Discover the best-kept secret in the province of Castellón on our day trip to the Caves of Sant Josep. We'll see a natural area as we explore these caves on foot and by boat.

Caves of Sant Josep Day Trip

At 3:25 pm, we'll meet in front of the Oropesa del Mar Tourist Office. From here we'll drive our minibus to the Sierra Espadán Natural Park, located in the municipality of Vall de Uxó. The Caves of Sant Josep await.

After a 50-minute drive, we'll reach the Caves of Sant Josep, the most famous natural attraction in Castellón, recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

We'll take a boat trip to explore the Vall de Uxó caves. As we sail along the longest underground river in Europe, we will discuss the main geological features of the caves and observe stalactites and stalagmites.

Next, we'll walk through the 250-metre long gallery to learn about its history. The Caves of Sant Josep were inhabited over 15,000 years ago, as evidenced by cave paintings and animal bones discovered here.

After spending 40 minutes exploring the caves, we'll return to the surface to admire the surrounding area. Afterwards, we'll return to Oropesa del Mar, arriving at 7:35 pm.
