Excursion to Maestrazgo Mining Park & Culla

Your journey begins at 8:45 am with a pickup at the Oropesa del Mar Tourist Office, where we'll embark on a minibus ride to the Maestrazgo Mining Park, a notable underground treasure located in the Alto Maestrazgo region.

Upon our arrival, we will hop aboard a mining train that will transport us to the entrance of the Victoria mine. Safety helmets will be distributed as we prepare to delve into this renowned underground gallery.

During our exploration, informative videos along the route will shed light on the conditions miners faced centuries ago. You will gain insights into the minerals extracted and the tools employed, with several artifacts available for viewing within the mines.

Next, we will venture into the Esperanza mine, where further discussions regarding the natural features of the galleries will take place. You will encounter stunning stalactites, deep shafts, and intertwined root systems that stretch beneath the surface.

Transitioning from the depths of the mines, we will proceed to Culla, historically significant as one of the last territories acquired by the Order of the Temple. Here, a guided tour will lead us through the picturesque cobbled streets as we explore the town's rich history. Our itinerary includes visits to key landmarks such as the 11th-century Arab castle, the Granero del Comendador, and the former hospital.

Our excursion will conclude with a return journey to Oropesa del Mar by minibus, with an estimated arrival time of 1:45 pm.
