Historic battles, ancient olive trees and a religious complex await on our Traiguera & Cervera del Maestre Day Trip. We will leave Oropesa del Mar and learn about various monuments.

Traiguera & Cervera del Maestre Day Trip

We will explore the villages around Oropesa del Mar. Meeting time is at 9 am in front of the town's Tourist Office in Plaza París. After everyone arrives, we will board the bus for a 1-hour drive to Traiguera.

Upon arrival, we will visit an estate with thousand-year-old olive groves, learning about their cultivation, particularly the oldest tree dating back to the year 971. We will also learn how Traiguera's olive oil is produced and have the opportunity to taste it along with a selection of cold meats.

Next, we will visit Cervera del Maestre, strolling through its cobbled streets, exploring the Oil Mill Visitor Centre, and seeing key monuments including the old medieval fish market, the Church of the Assumption, and Cervera del Maestre Castle. We will discuss the castle's defensive role during Spain's Reconquista period.

After the guided tour, we will return to Traiguera to visit the Royal Sanctuary of the Virgen María de la Font de la Salud. Here, we will learn about its history dating back to the reign of Charles V as we explore the guest house, priests' house, kitchen, and hermitage.

We will conclude our day trip at 2:30 pm back at the starting point.
