Barbagia 4x4 Tour
At 8:30 am, we'll pick you up at Piazza del Popolo in Orosei and begin our journey in a 4x4 vehicle.
The first stop will be at the Nuragic complex of sa Sedda 'e sos Carros in Lanaittu Valley, Nuoro province, an archaeological site where the ancient Nuragic peoples engaged in the cult of water during the Bronze Age, around 3,000 years ago. The site features buildings surrounding a sacred well made of dark basalt and light limestone.
Next, we'll continue to the springs of Su Gologone at the foot of Mount Uddè, renowned for its karst spring and its waters, which flow into a small lake with blue and emerald green hues.
Our next destination will be the Corbeddu Cave, the site of the oldest hominid remains in Sardinia, dating back approximately 20,000 years. We will explore the surrounding area where significant fossils, like those of the ancestor of modern deer (Megaloceros cazioti) and the extinct Prolagus sardus, have been discovered.
Finally, between 12:30 and 1:30 pm, we will return to the meeting point in Orosei.
