Barbagia 4x4 Tour

At 8:30 am, we'll pick you up at Piazza del Popolo in Orosei and commence our journey in a powerful 4x4 vehicle.

The first stop will be at the Nuragic complex of sa Sedda 'e sos Carros, an archaeological site in Lanaittu Valley, Nuoro province. Here, we will explore the site where ancient Nuragic peoples celebrated the cult of water in the Bronze Age, about 3,000 years ago, featuring buildings surrounding a sacred well of dark basalt and light limestone boulders.

After this site, we will continue to the springs of Su Gologone at the foot of Mount Uddè, known for its karst spring and a small lake with blue and emerald green waters.

Next, we will visit the Corbeddu Cave, which contains the oldest hominid remains found in Sardinia, dating back 20,000 years. We will also explore the area where important fossils have been discovered, including those of the modern deer ancestor (Megaloceros cazioti) and the extinct Prolagus sardus.

Finally, between 12:30 and 1:30 pm, we will return to the meeting point in Orosei.
