On this day trip to Nara, we'll see the famous Sika Deer Park and the historic shrines of this medieval city like T?dai-ji and Kasuga Taisha. We'll also visit Uji, home of matcha.

Day Trip Details

At the designated time, we'll meet at Kyoto-Hachijoguchi Station. From there, we'll head to Nara, which was the capital of Japan during the Middle Ages.

Once in Nara, we'll visit T?dai-ji Temple, dedicating about 40 minutes to admire the Great Buddha, the largest wooden statue in the world. Next, we'll go to Nara Park to see the sika deer grazing. Afterward, we'll spend about 30 minutes at the Kasuga Taisha Shinto shrine, known for its numerous bronze and stone lanterns.

We'll then leave Nara and travel to Uji, known for matcha tea production. Upon arrival, you'll have 45 minutes of free time to eat at a local restaurant. Afterward, we'll tour Uji and visit the Byodoin Temple, considered one of Kyoto's oldest monuments.

To conclude the day, we'll participate in a matcha tea workshop, learning about its properties and ceremony while enjoying its flavor. Finally, we'll return to Kyoto and drop you off at the starting point approximately 8 hours after the day's trip begins.
