Take the road less travelled to one of Kyoto's most iconic monuments on Kyoto's No. 1 guided hiking tour of the Fushimi Inari-Taisha Shrine.

Fushimi Inari Hike

Meeting at your chosen time at Tofukuji Station, we will walk through the streets of Kyoto towards the lesser-known path to the Fushimi Inari-Taisha Shrine, located about 20 minutes away.

Upon arrival, we will start a 5-kilometre (3 mile) guided hiking tour to explore this Shinto shrine, established in 711, dedicated to the Shinto kami of rice and sake. The hike includes learning about Japanese beliefs and customs as we explore Fushimi Inari-Taisha.

We will enjoy its beautiful surroundings, discovering natural bamboo forests and a small Inari Shrine around Fushimi Inari. The trails are seldom visited by tourists for an authentic experience.

After the hike, we will walk through the iconic Tori gates featured in Memoirs of a Geisha. This path leads us to the highest point of Fushimi Inari-Taisha, offering a panoramic view of Kyoto.

Our 3-hour tour typically concludes around the main shrine, though routes may vary.
