Take the road less travelled to one of Kyoto's most iconic monuments on Kyoto's No. 1 guided hiking tour of the Fushimi Inari-Taisha Shrine.

Fushimi Inari Hike

Meet at your selected time at Tofukuji Station and start your walk through the streets of Kyoto towards the lesser-known path to the Fushimi Inari-Taisha Shrine, approximately 20 minutes away.

Upon arrival, participate in a 5-kilometre (3 mile) guided hiking tour that covers the history of this Shinto shrine established in 711, dedicated to the Shinto kami of rice and sake. Learn about Japanese religious beliefs and customs while exploring Fushimi Inari-Taisha.

Experience striking surroundings, including natural bamboo forests and a small Inari Shrine. The hike will take you on trails less frequented by tourists, providing an authentic experience without crowds.

After the hike, pass through the iconic Tori gates featured in the movie Memoirs of a Geisha to reach the highest point of Fushimi Inari-Taisha, offering a panoramic view of Kyoto.

The 3-hour tour usually concludes at the main shrine, although routes may vary.
