Take the road less travelled to one of Kyoto's most iconic monuments on Kyoto's No. 1 guided hiking tour of the Fushimi Inari-Taisha Shrine.
Fushimi Inari Hike
Starting at Tofukuji Station, we’ll walk 20 minutes through Kyoto to the Fushimi Inari-Taisha Shrine. There, we will embark on a 5-kilometre (3 mile) guided hiking tour focusing on this Shinto shrine built in 711, dedicated to the Shinto kami of rice and sake. The tour explores the beliefs and customs associated with the shrine.
Participants will also enjoy beautiful surroundings, including bamboo forests and a small Inari Shrine, while following trails less frequented by tourists.
After the hike, we’ll stroll through the iconic Torii gates featured in the movie Memoirs of a Geisha, leading us to the highest point of Fushimi Inari-Taisha for a spectacular panoramic view of Kyoto. The 3-hour tour typically concludes around the main shrine, though routes may vary.
