Would you like to visit the Arashiyama bamboo forest? On this tour, we'll get to see this world-famous natural site as well as two beautiful temples.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Saga-Arashiyama Station, from which point we'll walk to the bamboo forest, one of Kyoto's most famous natural attractions.
The bamboo plant is closely tied to Japanese culture. We'll discuss the economic and spiritual role of bamboo in Japan and experience the meditative sound produced by the wind passing through the bamboo trees.
As we proceed through the forest, home to some trees over 20 metres (65 ft) in height, we'll visit two Buddhist temples. Here, we'll learn about the history of these structures and visit the Okawauchi Sanso garden.
Following the visits, we'll stop for lunch at a local restaurant, which will include a main course, a side, and a drink.
After 4-5 hours, we'll conclude the tour at the starting point.
