Are you ready to explore the Arashiyama bamboo forest? This guided experience offers a chance to immerse yourself in one of the most celebrated natural sites in the world as well as discover two exquisite temples.
Description
We will gather at Saga-Arashiyama Station at the designated time, after which we’ll stroll to the bamboo forest, a renowned gem among Kyoto’s natural wonders.
The significance of the bamboo plant is deeply rooted in Japanese culture. Throughout our journey, we will discuss its economic and spiritual significance in Japan. You might find the soothing sounds created by the wind weaving through the bamboo grove quite enchanting.
As we wander through this towering forest, where some bamboo stalks exceed 20 meters (65 ft) in height, we will stop to visit two Buddhist temples. Here, we will delve into the rich history of these sacred sites and explore the beautiful Okawauchi Sanso garden.
To recharge, we’ll enjoy a delightful lunch at a local eatery, featuring a main course, side dish, and beverage.
Our tour will wrap up after approximately 4-5 hours, returning to our original meeting point.
