Guided Tour of Arashiyama & Bamboo Forest

Would you like to visit the Arashiyama bamboo forest? On this tour, we'll see this world-famous natural site and two beautiful temples.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet at Saga-Arashiyama Station and walk to the bamboo forest, one of Kyoto's most famous natural attractions.

The bamboo plant is closely tied to Japanese culture. We'll discuss the economic and spiritual role of bamboo in Japan. You may notice the meditative sound produced by the wind through the bamboo trees.

As we explore the bamboo forest, home to trees over 20 meters (65 ft) tall, we'll encounter two Buddhist temples. We'll learn about the history of these buildings and visit the Okawauchi Sanso garden.

We'll stop for a lunch at a local restaurant, including a main course, a side, and a drink.

After 4-5 hours, we'll conclude the tour at the starting point.
