Guided Tour of Arashiyama & Bamboo Forest

Would you like to visit the Arashiyama bamboo forest? On this tour, we'll get to see this world-famous natural site as well as two beautiful temples.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet at Saga-Arashiyama Station, from which point we'll walk to the bamboo forest, one of Kyoto's most famous natural attractions.

We'll discuss the economic and spiritual role of bamboo in Japan. You may notice the meditative sound produced by the wind passing through the bamboo trees.

As we walk through the bamboo forest, which features trees over 20 metres (65 ft) in height, we'll encounter two Buddhist temples. During our visit, we'll learn about the history of these buildings and explore the Okawauchi Sanso garden.

We will then stop for lunch at a local restaurant, which will include a main course, a side, and a drink.

After 4-5 hours, we'll conclude the tour at the starting point.
