Guided Tour of Arashiyama & Bamboo Forest

Would you like to visit the Arashiyama bamboo forest? On this tour, we will explore this renowned natural site and two beautiful temples.

Description

At the specified time, we will meet at Saga-Arashiyama Station and walk to the bamboo forest, one of Kyoto's most famous natural attractions.

The bamboo plant is significant in Japanese culture, and we will discuss its economic and spiritual roles in Japan. You may notice the unique sound produced by the wind passing through the bamboo trees.

As we walk through the forest, which features some trees over 20 metres (65 ft) tall, we will visit two Buddhist temples. During this visit, we will learn about their history and also visit the Okawauchi Sanso garden.

We will make a stop for lunch at a local restaurant, which includes a main course, a side, and a drink.

The tour will last approximately 4-5 hours, concluding at the starting point.
