Day Trip Details
We will convene at Kyoto-Hachijoguchi Station at the scheduled time. Shortly after, we'll venture towards Nara, a city that once served as Japan's capital during the Middle Ages, embodying traditional essence.
Upon our arrival in Nara, our first destination will be the T?dai-ji Temple, where we will spend approximately 40 minutes marveling at the impressive Great Buddha, the largest wooden statue globally.
Our next stop is Nara Park, home to its famous sika deer roaming freely across lush greenery. Following this, we'll dedicate around 30 minutes to explore the Kasuga Taisha Shinto shrine, known for its many bronze and stone lanterns, making it one of Nara's most ancient sites—definitely a place to cherish!
After experiencing Nara, our journey continues to Uji, recognized for its thriving matcha tea culture. Upon arrival, you will have 45 minutes of leisure to enjoy a meal in a local eatery. Refreshed from your break, we will tour Uji and visit the Byodoin Temple, one of the oldest monuments in the Kyoto region.
To conclude our day, we'll engage in a matcha tea workshop, uncovering the properties and rituals of this delightful beverage, followed by a tasting of its exquisite flavor.
Finally, we will return to Kyoto, dropping you off at the meeting point about 8 hours after our departure.
