Explore Osaka, Japan's Third-Largest City
The free tour of Osaka begins in front of the Opa Starbucks building, focusing on local culture and comparisons among Japanese cities. We will explore the Ame-Mura neighborhood, influenced by American culture post-World War II, affecting the Japanese business landscape.
Next, we will walk to the Dotonbori Canal and discuss various stories, including the curse of Colonel Sanders. We will also take photos with the Glico sign and see the Kuidaore Taro doll.
Our next stop is the historic Hozenji Temple, a survivor of the 1945 bombings, where we will learn about the Buddha of finance and business, essential to understanding Osaka's economic essence.
The tour concludes at the Kuromon Market, known for its wagyu beef, fresh sashimi, and crab. We will discuss artisanal food preparation and the tradition of Sakai knives.
After 2.5 hours, our free tour of Osaka will end near the market.
