Want to learn about the fascinating world of sake in Japan? On this tour of 3 distilleries in Nada, we'll discover the history and secrets of this ancient drink and enjoy a tasting of unique flavours and aromas.
Tour Details
We'll meet at the designated time at Uozaki Station in Kobe to begin our sake tour of Nada, a district famous for producing this iconic drink. From here, we'll walk through picturesque streets, first admiring the Sakura-Masamune and Kenbishi distilleries, two of the oldest in Japan.
Our first stop will be the Kiku-Masamune distillery, founded in 1659, known for traditional crafting processes such as taruzake: sake aged in barrels. Depending on availability, we may visit the workshop where artisans craft these barrels by hand. During this 1-hour visit, you'll taste this traditional sake alongside 2 others from 6 premium options.
Continuing our tour, we'll visit the Sake Hakutsuru Museum, the largest sake distributor in Nada. Here we'll explore the interactive museum and explain the various tools and equipment in the exhibition. We'll also conduct a tasting of 2 types of Daiginjo.
After 1 hour in this museum, we'll proceed to Nada Go Go Sake Tokoro, a former production site of Kenbishi. Here, we'll conduct a final immersive sake tasting, where you'll try 3 selected types, paired with a snack.
Lastly, we'll walk to Mikage Station, concluding our tour after a total of 3.5-4.5 hours.
