Canoe Adventure Overview

At the agreed time, we'll collect you from your accommodation in Otavalo and make our way to Lake San Pablo, located a mere 10 kilometers from the town. Are you ready to embark on this adventure?

Upon arrival, we’ll explore the art of crafting traditional canoes, known as "caballito de totora," constructed from the abundant reed plants that flourish along the shores of the lake. The skill involved in their creation will surely impress you!

Before venturing onto the water, we will equip you with all essential gear and discuss safety protocols. No prior rowing experience or swimming skills are necessary; we will tailor the experience to suit your comfort level so that everyone can relish this journey.

It's time to dip into the experience! While maneuvering through these two-person canoes, keep an eye out for various wildlife, including cormorants, Andean gulls, and Kentish plovers, among others. Ensure to capture the stunning scenery with your camera!

After a 1.5-hour canoe excursion, we will return to the pier where you can enjoy a light meal with a selection of a sandwich, a bottle of water, and a piece of fruit while soaking in the impressive views of the grand Imbabura Volcano!

To conclude this 3-hour activity, we will return you to Otavalo and bid farewell at your hotel.
