On this canoe ride on Lake San Pablo, you'll sail in a traditional boat made from reed with the Imbabura Volcano in the background.
Canoe Ride Details
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Otavalo and head to Lake San Pablo, located 10 kilometers from the town. Upon arrival, you'll learn how local towns construct traditional canoes called "caballito de totora," made from reed plants.
Before entering the water, safety measures and necessary equipment will be provided. The experience is adaptable to your level of expertise, whether you have rowing experience or not.
During the 1.5-hour canoe tour, you may spot cormorants, Andean gulls, and Kentish plovers. Remember to take pictures of the landscapes.
After the tour, we'll return to the pier for a light lunch, which includes a sandwich, a bottle of water, and a piece of fruit, all with views of the Imbabura Volcano.
Finally, we will take you back to your hotel in Otavalo after this 3-hour activity.
Hotel Pickup
This tour includes hotel pickup only for those staying in the center of Otavalo. If your hotel is outside this area, we will contact you to establish an alternative meeting point or coordinate pickup at your hotel for an additional fee.
