Excursion to Sandy Turtle Conservation Center

In this excursion, participants will learn about the turtle population in the Mexican Caribbean and environmental care. We will meet at the Mahahual Lighthouse and travel to the Sandy Turtle Center, which is a 40-minute drive.

At the center, attendees will hear a talk on the impact of plastic on oceans and observe the environmental protection efforts. Following the talk, participants will participate in a beach clean-up at Mahahual Beach to contribute to reducing ocean pollution.

After the clean-up, a selection of fruits and pastries will be offered as a snack. Following this, the second part of the activity will focus on sea turtles, specifically the white turtle and loggerhead sea turtle, guided by biologists. The experience will include exploring the beach to find replicas of turtles and their nests.

The activity lasts a total of 4 hours, concluding with the return to the starting point.
