Excursion to Sandy Turtle Conservation Center
During this excursion to the Sandy Turtle Conservation Center at Mahahual Beach, participants will learn about turtles and environmental care. The tour begins at the Mahahual Lighthouse, followed by a 40-minute drive to the Sandy Turtle Center, where attendees will hear a talk on the impact of plastic on oceans and the center's environmental efforts. Afterward, participants will engage in a beach cleanup at Mahahual Beach.
Following the cleanup, a selection of fruits and pastries will be provided as a snack. The second part of the activity will focus on sea turtles, including insights about the white turtle and loggerhead sea turtle, presented by accompanying biologists. The experience will conclude with an exploration of the beach in search of turtle replicas and nests.
The total duration of the activity is 4 hours, ending back at the starting point.
