On this tour to Tiradentes and Congonhas, we'll explore the historical impact of European colonizers in the 17th and 18th centuries, including a visit to the Sanctuary of the Good Jesus of Matosinhos, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day Trip to Tiradentes & Congonhas

At 7 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Ouro Preto to begin the excursion to two significant historical cities in Minas Gerais.

Our first stop will be Congonhas, established in the 17th century by early settlers searching for resources. A guided tour of the old town will cover key historical aspects.

We will walk through Congonhas, visiting key sites like the Chapel of the Steps and various colonial houses. The itinerary includes the History Museum and the Sanctuary of the Good Jesus of Matosinhos, featuring European Baroque styles.

Next, we will head to Tiradentes, noted for its similar colonial architecture.

In Tiradentes, we'll explore its old jail, the church of San Antonio, and a museum reflecting the city's history. After the tour, you will have two hours of free time for lunch at your discretion.

The tour will conclude at 5 pm, after which we will return you to your hotel in Ouro Preto.
