Day Trip to Tiradentes & São João del-Rei

After picking you up at your hotel in Ouro Preto at 7 am, we'll head southwest to São João del-Rei. The minibus ride will take about three and a half hours.

Upon arrival, we'll take a guided tour of São João del-Rei, established in 1713. We will explore the streets of the historic center, observing the colonial architecture and colorful low houses.

During the tour, we will visit the churches of Carmen and Pilar, notable examples of Brazilian colonial baroque art. Additionally, we will stop at the Tancredo Neves museum-memorial to learn about the life of this local politician. An hour of free time will also be provided for lunch.

Next, we will proceed to Tiradentes, also founded in the 18th century. Our tour will include the old town and significant monuments, such as the church of San Antonio and the old jail. We will visit the Padre Toledo Museum, which reflects the style of Portuguese noble houses.

The excursion concludes at 5 pm, returning you to your hotel.
