Ouro Preto Tour
At 9 am, we will pick you up at your hotel in Ouro Preto to start exploring the main monuments of this Brazilian city.
Ouro Preto was formerly known as Vila Rica. During our walk, we will discuss the gold rush that brought wealth to the town in the 18th century.
We will explore the historic center and visit three notable religious buildings, beginning with the church of San Francisco, designed by the baroque artist Antônio Francisco Lisboa.
Additionally, we will admire the interior decoration of the Pilar church and visit the Carmo church. Nearby, we will enter the Oratory Museum, which features over 150 religious images from the 17th to the 20th century.
During lunch, you may choose a restaurant of your preference. Afterward, we will proceed to the Inconfidência Museum to explore the 1789 revolt, which sought Brazilian independence from Portugal, coinciding with the French Revolution.
