2-Day Stargazing Expedition
Day 1: Ovalle - Quebrada Amarilla
Pickup is at 8 am from your hotel in Ovalle, followed by travel to Quebrada Amarilla. Upon arrival, we will set up our mountain camp.
After lunch, we will embark on a hike covering between 3 and 4 kilometers (1.9 - 2.5 miles) with views of pristine valleys and Andean peaks.
In the evening, return to base camp for dinner and a stargazing session. Chilean skies are known for their clarity, making it ideal for observing stars and planets. A telescope will be provided for enhanced viewing, followed by an astrophotography workshop to capture star images. Overnight camping in tents follows.
Day 2: Quebrada Amarilla - Ovalle
Breakfast is at 8:30 am before another trekking route along the Quebrada Amarilla stream. This hike spans 1.5 kilometers (1 mile) and reaches an altitude of 3000 meters (9859 feet).
We will have snacks during the hike before returning to the stream for lunch. Return to the vehicle for transfer back to your hotel in Ovalle, arriving by 6 pm.
Accommodation & Food
This tour includes one night's accommodation in a mountain camp. Food is not included, so please bring your own supplies.
Hotel Pickup
Pickup is included from hotels in downtown Ovalle; for other areas, pickup will be at the indicated time at Plaza de Armas in the city center.
