Valle del Encanto Tour

We'll see petroglyphs, stone castings and other remains on this archaeological tour of Valle del Encanto, one of the main archaeological sites in Chile.

Description

After picking you up from your hotel in Ovalle, we'll head to the Valle del Encanto, an archaeological site from Prehistory about 20 km (12.5 miles) away. We'll start our visit by observing the petroglyphs of the Valle del Encanto, believed to belong to the Molle culture, with origins over 2,000 years ago.

As we continue our tour, we'll see various remains of stone castings, featuring circular concavities drilled into the rock. These may have functioned for grinding food or had ceremonial uses. We'll explore the prehistoric site to discover the true purpose of these stone castings, found throughout central Chile and surrounding areas.

Finally, we'll conclude the tour and return to your hotel in Ovalle, arriving at 1 pm.
