Explore a historic and beautiful city on our Oxford Walking Tour. We'll stroll around the outsides of the buildings that make up the University of Oxford, one of the world's most prestigious universities.
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at Carfax Tower, located on Queen St in the city centre, and set off on our walking tour of Oxford.
We will begin at Carfax Tower, a 13th-century stone tower and an Oxford landmark. Next, we will walk to the replica of the Bridge of Sighs in Venice, connecting the buildings of Herford College. We will visit the outside of the Bodleian Bookshop, Radcliffe Camera, and St. Mary the Virgin Church in Radcliffe Square. We will also see Christ Church College, which houses an important collection of over 300 paintings by renowned artists. This location was also used as a set for some scenes in the Harry Potter films.
As we explore, we will discuss interesting facts about Oxford, such as university admission requirements and famous students, including connections to J.R.R. Tolkien.
Finally, we will visit Broad Meadow, one of Oxford's public spaces. After 45 minutes exploring, we'll return to the starting point to finish the tour.
