Hacienda Chimalpa & Zempoala Convent Day Trip
We will pick you up from your hotel in Pachuca at the indicated time and head to one of the most famous pulque haciendas in the state of Hidalgo.
Pulque, known as the Nectar of the Gods, has origins dating back to the writings of Indigenous Peoples in Central America around the year 200. It is made from the fermentation of the maguey plant and is among the most popular traditional liquors in Mexico.
During our visit to Hacienda Chimalpa, we will learn about their maguey plantations and see the main building, the monumental church, and the colonial-style chapel. The ranch hosts various events, and we will explore facilities like Trojes Hall and Ruedo for equestrian shows.
Next, we will stop at the Padre Tembleque Aqueduct, a 16th-century hydraulic engineering marvel from the Viceroyalty of New Spain.
Then, we'll proceed to Zempoala Convent (also known as Todos los Santos Convent), an elegant Plateresque-style building. We will explore its temple, chapel, and atrium, covering the history of the Franciscan order involved in its construction.
We will conclude our trip with a stop in the village of Zempoala for lunch on your own before returning to Pachuca, with a drop-off at your hotel 10 hours after pickup.
