On this day trip to Famagusta from Paphos, we will cross the Green Line to enter the Turkish side of Cyprus and visit the monastery of St. Barnabas, where the tomb of this apostle is located.

Description

At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Paphos and head to our destination. On the way, we'll stop at Choirokitia for a break and coffee.

After crossing the Green Line, we will arrive at the monastery of St. Barnabas, where the Cypriot-born apostle is buried. We will visit the museum of the complex, which houses valuable icons and religious relics, along with the tomb of St. Barnabas.

Next is a visit to the ruins of Salamis, notable for its amphitheater and gymnasium. Following this, we'll proceed to Famagusta.

In Famagusta, we will explore its Venetian-era walls and Gothic architecture of religious temples, including the Cathedral of St. Nicholas, constructed in 1312 and later converted into a mosque. You will have free time for lunch and shopping.

Finally, we will return to Paphos, stopping at the ghost town of Varosi to see its abandoned houses and sandy beach. We will drop you off back at your hotel in Paphos, approximately eleven hours after pickup.
