Kalutara Temple and Lunugaga Estate Private Tour
We will pick you up from your hotel in Bentota at 8:30 am, and head north to the city of Kalutara, just 40 minutes away.
We will arrive at the Kalutara temple, a significant place of worship for Buddhists. This temple features the oldest hollow stupa in Sri Lanka and is one of the largest, visible from anywhere in the city. You will discover the sacred Kalutara Bodhiya fig tree and learn about its history.
After this visit, we will have lunch at one of the city's restaurants before heading to Lunuganga.
The famous Sri Lankan architect, Sir Geoffrey Bawa, was an industrial pioneer both in Sri Lanka and worldwide. We will learn about his history while touring his estate and admiring his gardens, observing examples of his talent.
We will finish the private tour back at your hotel in Bentota, arriving at 5:30 pm.
