Costa Brava by Bike - Tour from Palafrugell

This route is designed for all the public (although if it is a private group with experience, you can add more km, and also more technical areas to the route).

We offer electric touring bikes, or if you prefer, Gravel type. Everything runs along wide dirt tracks, without great technical difficulty, worse with some unevenness.

We start the day in the vicinity of Calella de Palafrugell, when we have the bikes adapted to the height and requirements of each person, we will go to Tamariu, to reach the Far de Sant Sebastià. Where we will have a wide view of our Empordà area and of course the sea. Then we will follow the path adjacent to the sea, passing through the Jardi Botanic de Cap Roig, and reaching the beach of Castell. Where we will take a break. From there we will continue through some coves of Palamos and we will walk along its promenade in front of the sea. After enjoying these incredible views, we will go inside the area, in the protected area of Las Gavarres, our mountainous area, and from here we will go to our selected restaurant. After our magnificent lunch, we will return to the starting point taking a leisurely ride, adapting the route to the demands of the group.

The place chosen for lunch will be Finca Bell-LLoc. Here we will taste tapas, the farm’s own products, and a tasting of its wines. They will also pay us a visit to its famous winery. A magnificent winery, located on a land of native and precious wine country, has been built hidden underground under the vineyard. These underground chambers delve into the enigmas of the winery discovering the ageing of wine and in turn the play of light and shadow generated by the architecture of RCR, recognized with the Pritzker 2017 in architecture. In Bell Lloc they are producers of their fresh products, they have their own garden and corral, where they raise Iberian chickens, sheep, goats and pigs that feed mainly on acorns. Fresh fish from the port of Palamós is another of its star products.

Itinerary for full-day tour of 40km

9:30am: Meeting and bike setup

10am -11am: Route Palafrugell – Castell (coffee break)

11:15am -1pm: Route Castell – Bell.lloc

1pm - 3pm: Tasting lunch

3pm - 3:30pm: Winery guided tour

3:30pm -4:30pm: Route Bell.lloc – Palafrugell
