Description
Your ticket will allow you to explore the ancient Maya city of Lakam Ha', which dates back to the 3rd century BC. After being abandoned due to wars and reclaimed by the jungle, this site was rediscovered centuries later, showcasing Maya urban planning and architecture.
Inside the archaeological site, notable monuments include the Temple of the Inscriptions, a 25-metre (82 feet) high pyramid that houses the burial site of Maya king K'inich Janaab' Pakal. Additional structures to explore are the Temple of the Cross, the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Skull, and the Tomb of the Red Queen. At the Great Palace, you'll find well-preserved reliefs and a tower used by priests to observe sunsets, all set in a lush natural jungle environment.
