Metzabok Day Trip

Cross the Lacandon Jungle and visit Metzabok on our day trip from Palenque, including a boat ride and cave paintings by the Mayas.

Metzabok Day Trip

At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Palenque for a 2-hour 30-minute drive to Metzabok Lagoon.

Upon arrival, we will board a boat for a 2-hour 30-minute trip across the lagoon, named after the God of Rain. You will see historical cave paintings at the base of the Chiapas Mountains.

Learn about Metzabok, located in the Lacandon Jungle, and the origins of the Maya Lacandon community.

Halfway through the trip, we'll return to the mainland for a 1-hour break for lunch on your own.

After lunch, we’ll take a walk through the jungle to explore the area's biodiversity. We will head to a lookout point for views of Metzabok and its surroundings.

We will return to Palenque, arriving by around 7 pm.
