Details of the Day Trip
Our journey begins at the appointed time as we gather outside the Palermo Centrale railway station. Here, we will board a train, setting off toward Cefalù and initiating our adventure.
Upon arrival, we will partake in a guided exploration of Cefalù. This 2.5-hour tour will showcase the impressive Cathedral of Cefalù, where we will appreciate its Norman facade from the outside. Inside, the cathedral houses marvelous Byzantine mosaics. The centerpiece, the Christ Pantokrator, glows gloriously, accompanied by the four Evangelists.
Next, we’ll take in the grandeur of La Rocca from the town center, a substantial rocky outcrop that oversees the city. Following this, you will have half an hour of leisure to explore the Museo Mandralisca at your own rhythm, immersing yourself in its collection of ancient artifacts, artistic masterpieces, and captivating paintings.
As we stroll through the historic core, a stop at the Medieval Wash-House will provide a glimpse into past daily life. We will also visit the Church of Santa Maria Dell'Odigitria and Porta Pescara, remnants of Cefalù's medieval fortifications.
Before concluding the tour, you’ll enjoy additional free time to savor lunch at a local eatery of your choice.
After 6 hours, we will head back to Palermo. Should you wish to linger longer in Cefalù, the guide will provide train tickets so you can return to Palermo at your preferred time.
