If you're in Palermo and want to explore two beautiful places in Sicily, this day trip to Erice and Marsala is recommended.
Description
We will meet at via Volturno 44 in Palermo and depart for Erice and Marsala. The first stop is the medieval village of Erice, where we will walk through cobbled streets and enjoy incredible views from the hilltop. Panoramic points offer sights of the Egadi Islands and the city of Trapani.
In Erice, we will sample a Sicilian granita, a local sorbet. Afterwards, we will proceed along the western coast to Marsala, known for its sweet wine and salt pans. This route, a scenic 30-kilometre (18-mile) drive, allows us to view windmills and salt basins still in use.
In Marsala, time will be allocated for a typical Sicilian lunch and wine tasting, along with a chance to taste olive oil, valued in the region.
After a total of 9 hours, we will return to Palermo. See you next time!
