Urban art, traditional markets and stories of the Second World War star in this free alternative tour of Palermo. We'll get to know the other side of Sicily's capital!
See Palermo from a New Perspective
At the indicated time, we'll meet next to the church of San Ignacio de Olivella to start this free alternative tour of Palermo. Are you ready to get to know the most authentic and bohemian side of the city?
During the tour, we'll walk through the neighbourhoods of La Loggia and La Kalsa, which bear the scars left on their streets by the mafia and the Second World War. We'll learn about the striking stories of these areas while exploring the rise of urban art in Sicily's capital.
We'll observe the street art murals that carry messages of social criticism and visit the Vucciria market, known for its fish sales.
Next, we will head to the antiques market in Piazza Marina, see the oratory of San Lorenzo, and approach the old port of Palermo to admire the Church of Santa Maria della Catena, from the late 15th and early 16th century.
After 2 hours of sightseeing, we'll conclude the tour by the old port of Palermo.
