Royal Palace + Palatine Chapel Tour

Meet us at the Piazza del Parlamento to start our guided tour of the Royal Palace of the Normans and the Palatine Chapel of Palermo. Our first stop is the Palazzo dei Normanni, a building that dates back to the 12th century and served as the official residence for the kings of Sicily. During the visit, we will discuss the different monarchs who have passed through here and the reforms made during the times of Spanish rule.

As we walk through the elegant halls of the Royal Palace, we will share fascinating facts about this site. The most anticipated moment of the tour is entering the Palatine Chapel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Palatine Chapel is an authentic jewel of Arab-Norman art, featuring numerous golden mosaics that cover the walls and ceilings, creating various religious scenes and figures. Remember to bring your camera for this part of the tour.

After 1.5 hours, we will return to the starting point, bringing our tour to a close.

The second part of the tour occurs in the rest of the Palace, with visitable areas subject to change based on the ordinary and extraordinary activities of the Sicilian Parliament, depending on its tourist agenda.
