Palermo Markets Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet in front of the Church of Saint Ignatius in the square of the same name. From here, we will start our tour of Palermo's markets in search of the best of Sicilian cuisine.
After introductions, we will walk to our first stop. Each of Palermo's four historic districts features its own market street. The most popular, Vucciria, Capo, and Ballarò, are included in our visit.
Throughout the tour, we will discuss the markets' importance and their cultural and traditional significance. We will observe the street vendors, known as abbannìano, calling out prices and promotions.
During the tour, we will taste local delicacies such as panelle, crocchè, sfincione, and arancina, topped off with a traditional Sicilian cannolo or ice cream if the weather permits. All this will be enjoyed with Sicilian wine.
We will conclude our 3-hour tour of Palermo's markets with goodbyes. Until next time!
