Cathedral of the Sea, Cathedral of Light, Cathedral of Space... on this guided tour you'll discover why the Santa María de Palma de Mallorca Cathedral has so many names. Has that sparked your curiosity?
Description
La Seu (another name for the cathedral) dominates the urban silhouette of Palma; it almost looks like a boat moored up and looking out at the sea from the edge of the city. Located next to the Almudaina Palace, we'll meet at the main entrance to the Cathedral and start our guided tour of the island's most impressive architectural work of art.
One of the Cathedral's biggest tourist attractions is the world's largest rose window in a Gothic cathedral. While we marvel at this and the many examples of geometric decoration, we'll learn about the secrets and legends hidden within the cathedral's golden walls.
Throughout the guided tour of the cathedral, we'll discover how contributions from architects such as Guillem Sagrera and the legendary Antonio Gaudí led to this monumental work. Plus, we'll also admire work from local artist Miquel Barceló.
After an hour and 45 minutes of sightseeing, the tour will end.
