Sierra Nevada Trekking Route

We'll meet at 9 am in Plaza de la Libertad, Pampaneira. From this point, we will start a trekking route of between 6 and 9 kilometers to explore the highlights of Sierra Nevada.

Initially, we will visit the National Park information point to learn about the aspects of this protected natural environment. We will also see farming tools and equipment to understand rural life in the villages of the Alpujarra of Granada.

We will leave Pampaneira and walk along the banks of the Poqueira ravine, climbing its slopes while enjoying views of the white villages of Sierra Nevada. The history and culture of Bubión and Capileira will be revealed as we walk through their streets.

While traversing the mountain paths, we will discuss the formation of these peaks and the origin of their rivers. A highlight will be when the Mulhacén, the highest peak in the Iberian Peninsula, comes into view.

After four to six hours of walking, depending on the group's abilities and conditions, we will return to the starting point.
