Day Trip to Emberá Indigenous Village
Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Panama City, followed by a one-hour drive to the Chagres River. Upon reaching Corotú port, we'll hop aboard a traditional canoe for a scenic voyage along the river.
As we glide through the serene waters, be captivated by the stunning natural surroundings until we arrive at a picturesque waterfall known as Quebrada Bonita, tucked away in the heart of the jungle.
The journey continues as we visit a village of the Emberá Indigenous Peoples. Here, you will gain knowledge about their rich culture, tracing back to their migration from Colombia in the 18th century.
Welcomed by a captivating dancing performance, community members will share insights into their craftsmanship, education, and traditions. Following this cultural immersion, you'll savor a delightful lunch featuring tilapia, patacones, and fresh fruit.
Post-lunch, experience another dance presentation, where you are encouraged to join in the festivities if you wish! Before returning to your hotel, take the opportunity to purchase some handcrafted souvenirs from the local artisans.
