Travel to the depths of the Panamanian jungle and visit an Emberá community. You'll learn about the ancestral culture and way of life of these Indigenous Peoples, and enjoy a traditional lunch.
Emberá Indigenous Village Day Trip
After picking you up from your hotel in Panama City, we'll travel for an hour toward the Chagres River. Upon arrival at the port of Corotú, we'll board a traditional canoe for a ride along the river.
Cruising along the river, we'll enjoy a natural environment of great beauty until we reach a beautiful waterfall called the Quebrada Bonita, in the middle of the jungle.
The tour will then continue with a visit to a community of Emberá Indigenous Peoples, where we'll have the opportunity to learn about the culture of these people, who moved from their ancestral lands in Colombia in the 18th century.
The Emberá will welcome us with a traditional dance, after which members of the community will tell us about their culture, education, and artisanry. After learning all about the way of life of the Emberá, we'll enjoy a lunch consisting of tilapia, patacones, and fruit.
After lunch, we'll watch another dance performance - you can even participate if you want! Before heading back to your hotel, you'll also be able to purchase some of the local artisan goods as a souvenir.
