This day excursion from Panama City invites you to explore the locks on the Atlantic Ocean, showcasing one of the most remarkable engineering feats globally: the Panama Canal. An experience not to be overlooked!

Details of the Day Trip

Our journey begins with a pickup from your hotel in Panama City at the scheduled time, where we will board a bus bound for the Atlantic Coast of Panama. After approximately an hour's travel, we will reach the magnificent Agua Clara Locks.

The Agua Clara Locks serve as one of the entry points to the Panama Canal via the Atlantic, linking the ocean to Gatun Lake, which is the largest lake within the canal system. Since its opening for transit in 1913, it has held the title of the largest artificial lake in the world.

Upon arrival, we will experience the transit of ships through the lock, observing how the complex gate system elevates vessels almost 26 meters (85 feet). Truly a sight to behold!

During our visit, we will also explore the Agua Clara Visitor Center, including the newly developed expansion of the canal designed to accommodate larger ships.

At this location, you'll have some leisure time to enjoy lunch and continue to marvel at this extraordinary feat of engineering and the vistas of Gatun Lake. There’s even a chance to spot crocodiles from the viewpoints available.

In conclusion, we will return you to the original departure point, culminating our trip about 5 hours after our initial pickup.
