Explore the Panama Canal and Monkey Island, featuring one of the most significant engineering marvels and playful primates. Experience a blend of nature, history, and extraordinary constructions in a single day.
Description
We'll pick you up from your Panama City hotel at the designated time and begin our journey by minibus to the Miraflores Visitor Center. Here, you'll learn about the history of the Panama Canal, exploring the various construction phases from the early 1900s. Multiple panoramic terraces at the Miraflores Visitor Center offer views of ships navigating the canal locks.
Afterward, we'll return to our minibus and travel alongside the Miraflores and Pedro Miguel locks to reach the town of Gamboa, beside the Chagres River. We will embark on a boat for a voyage across Gatun Lake, historically the largest artificial lake in the world.
As we sail, you'll observe colossal vessels navigating the lake amidst the Panamanian jungle. Our next stop is Monkey Island, where we'll explore its shores for various monkey species and possibly spot other wildlife, including sloths, toucans, turtles, and alligators. After a thorough exploration, we'll return to the mainland and the minibus, concluding our six-hour excursion with a return to your hotel.
