Explore the Panama Canal and Monkey Island, a tour combining a major engineering marvel and wildlife observation in one day.

Description

Pick-up from your Panama City hotel will occur at the scheduled time. Our journey begins by minibus to the Miraflores Visitor Center, where you will learn about the construction history of the Panama Canal.

We will review the various construction phases of the Panama Canal from the early 1900s. The Miraflores Visitor Center offers panoramic views of ships passing through the canal locks.

After our visit, we will continue by minibus to the town of Gamboa, located by the Chagres River. We will then board a boat for a peaceful ride across Gatun Lake, previously the largest artificial lake in the world.

While crossing the lake, watch massive vessels navigate through the beautiful Panamanian jungle. Our next site is Monkey Island, where we will look for various monkey species and possibly see sloths, toucans, turtles, and alligators.

After visiting Monkey Island, we will return to the mainland and the minibus. After a six-hour excursion, you will be returned to your hotel.
