Travel back to colonial times on this tour, spending a day exploring the ruins of Panama Viejo and the old town of Panama City.

Panama City Tour + Panama Viejo

Pickup will be at your hotel in Panama City at 8 am. The first stop is Panama Viejo, where we will visit the ruins of the first Spanish city in the country.

We will begin at the cathedral, climbing the tower for views of both the colonial and modern parts of the capital. The tour continues with visits to wells and rural houses that illustrate local life during colonial times. We will walk across the Slaughterhouse Bridge to the Fort of the Nativity, a key defense of the city from the west.

Next, a stop at the church and convent of the Immaculate Conception is included. There will also be an option to visit the museum in the Plaza Mayor for more history of Panama Viejo before heading to the oldest part of Panama City.

Panama City's old town, built in 1673, is a World Heritage Site. The tour will start at the cathedral, the first church built by the Spanish. Visits will continue to the churches of La Merced, San José, and San Francisco de Asís.

Participants will experience the local atmosphere while walking through Francia, Herrera, or Bolivar squares. The day concludes with a visit to the Panama Interoceanic Canal Museum, learning about this major engineering achievement. The tour will finish 6 hours after pickup, returning to your hotels.
