Panama City Tour + Panama Viejo
Pickup from your hotel in Panama City at 8 am will initiate our journey to Panama Viejo, where we will visit the ruins of the first Spanish city in the country.
The first stop will be the cathedral, where we will climb the tower for views of the colonial and modern areas of the city. Following this, we will see the wells and rural houses that illustrate colonial life, and trek across the Slaughterhouse Bridge to the Fort of the Nativity, a key city defense.
We will visit the church and convent of the Immaculate Conception and have the option to learn more about the history of Panama Viejo at the museum in the Plaza Mayor before proceeding to the oldest part of Panama City.
Established by the Spanish in 1673, Panama City's old town is a World Heritage Site. The tour here starts at the cathedral, the first Spanish church in the country. Visits will include the churches of La Merced, San José, and San Francisco de Asís.
We will experience the local atmosphere by walking through pleasant squares like Francia, Herrera, and Bolivar. At the end of the day, we will visit the Panama Interoceanic Canal Museum to learn about this engineering marvel.
Finally, we will return to the hotels, concluding the tour 6 hours after pickup.
