Private Pantelleria Archaeological Tour

This private archaeological tour of Pantelleria will take you through the different historical periods of this Sicilian island, from the Bronze Age to the Middle Ages.

Tour Details

We will meet at Via Borgo Italia to begin the tour of Pantelleria's past. The archaeological tour will start by visiting the huts of the village of Mursia and the necropolis of Sesi, where we will explore the history of the first settlers of the island in the Bronze Age.

We will review the stages through which Cossyra, the ancient name of Pantelleria, has passed from its origins to its decline. Its strategic location was significant in establishing it as a capital in the 13th century BC.

The last stop will be at Pantelleria Castle, where we will learn about the island's battles between Arabs and Christians.

The tour will conclude after four hours.
