Tour Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet inside the Tourist Office of Papeete to begin our journey through the capital of French Polynesia.
Our first stop will be at Bougainville Park, where we'll dive into the intriguing history of Tahiti. We'll hear the story of Captain Bougainville and other explorers and missionaries who played a role in the island's past.
From there, we'll make our way to the Assembly of French Polynesia, where we'll learn about Tahiti’s political past and present, exploring the roles of chiefs, monarchs, and various governments throughout the years.
Next, we'll visit the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Papeete, home to the iconic Catholic Cathedral. Here, we'll examine the island's religious history, tracking the influence of Protestantism and Christianity.
Then, we'll head to the bustling Municipal Market, a hub where the vibrant culture of Tahiti comes to life with flower stalls, artisan crafts, and food markets.
Our final destination is the magnificent Papeete Town Hall, an example of colonial architecture showcasing grand design, reflecting French colonial influence in Tahiti.
We'll wrap up our tour with a stroll through the streets of Papeete, concluding after a total of 2 hours.
