2-Day Excursion: Mont Saint Michel & Loire Valley Castles
Day 1: Departure from Paris to Mont Saint Michel and Angers
Your adventure begins at 18 Avenue de Suffren in Paris, where you will board a luxury air-conditioned coach. Sit back and enjoy the scenic views of the French countryside along the Normandy route. After approximately four hours, we will arrive at Mont Saint Michel, with a stop to appreciate the breathtaking views of the bay in front of the iconic fortress.
A shuttle will then transport us to the base of Mont Saint Michel. Once refreshed, we will explore the medieval streets and structures of the town, taking in the remaining fortifications as we ascend to the peak of the mountain. There, we will enter the famous Gothic Benedictine Abbey, a cherished site in France. Following our visit, you will have free time to soak in the stunning vistas over the river, wander through the charming medieval alleys, or sample some delicious crêpes.
We will depart Mont Saint Michel around 4:30 pm for Angers, where we will spend the night. Please note that on May 1, May 8, May 29, and August 14, our arrival at the Angers hotel may be delayed. A stop will be made en route for dinner.
Day 2: Exploration of Angers, Langeais, Amboise, and Chenonceau
After breakfast at the hotel, we will travel from Angers to the Château de Langeais for a guided visit. Next, we will proceed to the Château de Chenonceau, where you will have some free time for lunch prior to the start of the guided tour.
Known as a symbol of France's rich history, the Château de Chenonceau is a Renaissance jewel. During our tour, we will uncover its significance as the Château des Dames and explore the elegance of the French lifestyle encapsulated within its walls.
Lastly, we will visit the Château de Chambord, renowned for its stunning "double helix" staircase, attributed to Leonardo da Vinci. This remarkable castle was commissioned by François I of France.
Our coach will then make its way back to Paris, with an estimated drop-off at the meeting point at 9 pm.
