Description
Located on the banks of the Seine, near the Eiffel Tower, the Musée du Quai Branly - Jacques Chirac features a significant anthropological collection. The building, designed by architect Jean Nouvel, also includes a garden with over 150 botanical species.
Your ticket grants access to both the permanent collection and temporary exhibitions related to the art, culture, history, folklore, and traditions of the great civilizations of Africa, America, Asia, and Oceania.
In the African continent rooms, you will see archaeological pieces from Mali, Benin, Nigeria, and notable objects from the Congo, including masks and funerary items from Cameroon and Ethiopia. In the Americas, the thematic areas showcase figures and sculptures from pre-Columbian civilizations like the Mayans and Aztecs, along with attire from North American native peoples.
The Asian rooms highlight the cultures of India, China, Japan, and other countries, while the Oceania area focuses on the art and folklore of Australia, New Zealand, and various islands in Melanesia and Polynesia.
