Notre Dame Guided Tour

On this tour of the Ile de la Cité, participants will explore the historic heart of Paris, featuring an exterior view of the stunning Notre-Dame Cathedral and a visit to the exquisite church of Saint-Severin.

Tour Details

We'll gather at the scheduled time at the exit of the Ile de la Cité metro station, right by the iconic Notre-Dame Cathedral.

During the tour, while entry to the cathedral's interior is not included, participants will have the chance to observe the façade and hear about the devastating fire that affected Notre-Dame on 15 April 2019.

As we admire this landmark, we will share insights into its architectural features, including the towers, the large rose window, and the famous gargoyles. Additionally, the tour will include the intriguing tale of the Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Next, a walking tour of the Ile de la Cité will provide a closer look at the history of this small island in the Seine River, regarded as the birthplace of Paris. Notable buildings, such as the Sainte Chapelle and the Conciergerie fortress, will be viewed from the outside.

To conclude the tour, participants will visit the Latin Quarter to appreciate the gothic beauty of the church of Saint Séverin, often referred to as "Notre Dame's little sister." This smaller yet equally magnificent structure will be explored inside, showcasing its stunning architecture, stained glass windows, and artworks.

After the guided visit of Saint Séverin, the tour will wrap up outside the church, marking the end of this 2-hour experience.
