On this tour of the Ile de la Cité, we'll walk through the oldest part of Paris, where we'll see Notre-Dame Cathedral from the outside and visit the interior of the church of Saint-Severin.
Tour Details
We'll meet at 7 Rue Lagrange and take a walk along the banks of the River Seine to the Ile de la Cité, home to Notre-Dame Cathedral.
We will not enter the cathedral, but will observe the façade and discuss the fire on 15 April 2019.
Next, we'll explore the Ile de la Cité, learning about its history and admiring its iconic buildings, including the Sainte Chapelle and the Conciergerie fortress.
We will then proceed to the Latin Quarter to visit the church of Saint Séverin, recognized as "Notre Dame's little sister," where we will admire its architecture, stained glass windows, and artworks. Following the guided tour of Saint-Severin, we will conclude this 2-hour activity outside the church.
