On this tour of the Ile de la Cité, we'll walk through Paris's oldest area, seeing Notre-Dame Cathedral from the outside and visiting the church of Saint-Severin interior.
Tour Details
We will meet at 7 Rue Lagrange and take a walk along the banks of the River Seine to the Ile de la Cité, home to the famous Notre-Dame Cathedral.
We will not enter the cathedral but will view the façade and discuss the fire that affected Notre-Dame on 15 April 2019.
Next, we will explore the Ile de la Cité, discovering its history as the origin of Paris and admiring the exteriors of iconic buildings like the Sainte Chapelle and the Conciergerie fortress.
Finally, we will visit the Latin Quarter to see the church of Saint Séverin, noted for its gothic architecture, where we will enter to view its architecture, stained glass, and artworks.
Concluding this 1.5-hour activity, we will say goodbye outside the church.
