Discover what happened in the Notre Dame fire, explore the interior of its "little sister" and tour the Ile de la Cité, the oldest part of Paris.
Notre Dame Guided Tour
The tour meets on the far bank of the Seine river, where participants can see one of the most famous cathedrals in the world. Despite the recent fire, Notre Dame represents a significant example of Gothic architecture.
Your guide will explain the events of the afternoon of April 15th, detailing how the fire began in the roof, destroyed the spire, and caused severe damage to the interior. Information will also be provided on the efforts of Parisian firemen to preserve the cathedral's important artifacts, supported by audiovisual aids.
Following this overview of destruction, the tour will cover the reconstruction plans for Notre Dame and the process of evaluating proposals from architects worldwide.
The tour then includes a guided exploration of the Ile de la Cité, focusing on the history of this island, the site of medieval Paris, and highlights significant buildings such as Sainte Chapelle and the Conciergerie.
An additional visit to the Latin Quarter will showcase the church of Saint Séverin, referred to as "Notre Dame's little sister," where participants can admire its architecture, stained glass, and artwork before concluding the tour outside the church.
