Description
Day 1: Arrival in Bhutan - Thimphu
Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be picked up. The day includes a visit to Paro Ta Dzong, Bhutan's national museum, followed by a 1-hour drive to Thimphu, the capital at an altitude of 2,320 meters (7,611 feet). You can stop at Tamchhog Lhakhang before dinner and hotel transfer.
Day 2: Thimphu
After breakfast, explore Thimphu, including sites such as the Buddha Site, Folklore Museum, painting schools, farmer's market, and memorial Chorten. In the evening, visit Tashichho Dzong Fortress, illuminated at night. Return to the hotel for dinner.
Day 3: Thimphu – Punakha
Enjoy breakfast and depart for Punakha via Dochula Pass, with a stop for a hot drink and views of the western Himalayas. In the afternoon, visit Dzong de Punakha and Chimi Lhakhang, a 15th-century fertility temple. An optional rafting activity on the Mochu River is available before dinner.
Day 4: Punakha – Paro – Paro Taktshang
After breakfast, travel to Paro and embark on a 4-hour hike to Taktshang (Tiger's Nest monastery). If necessary, views can be enjoyed from below. Drive for 40 minutes to Chele La Pass at 3,300 meters (10,826 feet) for views of Mount Jomo Lhari. Enjoy free time in Paro before dinner.
Day 5: Return flight
After breakfast, return to Paro Airport, concluding the journey.
Accommodation
The tour includes 4 nights of accommodation in a double room at a 3-star hotel. Travelers with an odd-numbered party will be paired in double rooms; triple-room accommodation is not available.
