Day 1: Arrival in Bhutan - Thimphu
Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, a pickup will take you to Paro Ta Dzong, Bhutan's national museum. After a 1-hour drive through the Paro and Thimphu valleys, arrive in Thimphu at 2,320 meters (7,611 feet) above sea level. Enjoy a stop at Tamchhog Lhakhang before dinner and hotel check-in.
Day 2: Thimphu
Start your day with breakfast, then explore Thimphu, visiting the Buddha Site, Folklore Museum, painting schools, farmer's market, and the memorial Chorten. In the evening, visit Tashichho Dzong fortress, illuminated at night, followed by dinner at the hotel.
Day 3: Thimphu – Punakha
After breakfast, depart for Punakha via Dochula Pass, where you can enjoy a hot drink and views of the western Himalayas. Visit Dzong de Punakha and Chimi Lhakhang (temple of fertility). Optional rafting activity down the Mochu River in the evening, followed by dinner at the hotel.
Day 4: Punakha – Paro – Paro Taktshang
Following breakfast, head to Paro for a 4-hour hike to Taktshang (Tiger's Nest monastery). For those unable to hike, views from below will be available. A 40-minute drive to Chele La pass at 3,300 meters (10,826 feet) offers views of Mount Jomo Lhari. The evening is free to explore Paro before dinner at the hotel.
Day 5: Return flight
After breakfast, return to Paro airport, concluding the 5-day journey.
Accommodation
The tour includes 4 nights of accommodation in a double room at a 3-star hotel, with pairing for odd-numbered parties. Triple-room accommodation is not offered.
