Hiking Journey through Guachucal and La Cumbal Lagoon
Our day begins at 6 am at the Antonio Nariño monument, situated in the square that bears his name. From this point, we will head towards the municipality of Guachucal, nestled in the southern region of Nariño.
Upon arrival, we will embark on an ancient pathway once traversed by indigenous communities leading to the La Bolsa lagoon, a site they regarded as a hub of spiritual energy. This scenic route winds through the lush pastures on the slopes of the Cumbal volcano while skirting the boundaries of the Los Capotes Nature Reserve.
Our four-hour trek, categorized as medium-low difficulty, offers a chance to share enchanting legends associated with the Cumbal volcano along with insights into how the residents of Guachucal safeguard their natural surroundings. Engage in soulful reflection and achieve a profound connection with nature while experiencing a revitalizing journey that invigorates your spirit.
Upon reaching La Bolsa lagoon, you will discover the reasons that led the indigenous people to consider this landscape a source of renewal. You'll be treated to a breathtaking vista of the lagoon, with the majestic Cumbal volcano towering in the background.
Next, we will board a boat to traverse the lagoon towards the municipality of Cumbal. In this locale, we will gain access to the Los Capotes Reserve, where a nourishing lunch awaits, featuring a hearty soup, a fish entrée, and a refreshing beverage.
At the conclusion of our excursion, we will return to Pasto and ensure you are dropped off at the initial meeting point by 6 pm.
