La Cocha Lagoon & Santa Lucía Wetlands Excursion
At 7:30 am we'll meet at Plaza de Nariño and head to the department of Putumayo, our first destination.
After a 40-minute drive, we will arrive at La Cocha Lagoon, the second-largest freshwater reserve in Colombia. We will hike through the town of El Puerto, located by the lake, observing charming wooden Swiss-inspired houses.
Following the hike, we will take a boat ride on La Cocha Lagoon to reach the Santa Lucía wetlands, a Ramsar protected area. Here, we will stroll through a valley of frailejones, plants endemic to this ecosystem.
Halfway, we will stop at a local farm for a lunch cooked with organic products from the farm. We will then travel to the community of Torres de Paz, learning about the monument's construction that symbolizes harmony.
We will return to Pasto, arriving at the departure point by 7:30 pm.
