Come and see one of the largest lakes in Colombia on this excursion to La Cocha lagoon, a place of beauty.
Lake Cocha Tour
We'll meet at the Plaza de Nariño at 9 am and depart towards the department of Putumayo, arriving at La Cocha after approximately 40 minutes. It is the second largest lake in Colombia after Lake Tota.
We'll walk through this area of natural beauty while learning about the glacial origins of the lake. The route includes a walk through the village of El Puerto, known for its Swiss-inspired wooden houses.
Next, we'll visit a farm where the residents will give us a tour of their self-sustainable estate, showcasing their orchards, organic crops, and guinea pig farms. After the tour, we'll have lunch made from the farm's fresh produce.
Post-lunch, we'll return to Cocha lagoon for a boat tour of the water reserve, heading to the sanctuary of La Corota Island in the lagoon. We'll disembark for a walk to explore its wildlife and learn about local legends.
The tour concludes with a farewell snack in Pasto, ending around 7 pm at the departure point.
