Lake Cocha Tour
We'll meet at the Plaza de Nariño at 9 am and leave for the department of Putumayo, home to La Cocha lake, with an estimated travel time of 40 minutes. It is the second largest lake in Colombia after Lake Tota.
During our visit, we will explore the area and learn about the glacial origins of the lake. We'll walk through the village of El Puerto, observing the Swiss-inspired wooden houses built around the lake.
Next, we will visit a farm where the resident family will conduct a tour of their self-sustainable 'hacienda,' showcasing their orchards, organic crops, and guinea pig farms. After the tour, we'll enjoy lunch made from fresh produce from the farm.
Post-lunch, we will return to Cocha lagoon and board a boat for a tour of the water reserve. We will sail to the sanctuary of La Corota Island, where we will disembark for a walk to explore the local wildlife and learn about regional legends.
The tour will conclude with a farewell snack and return to Pasto, expected to finish around 7 pm.
