Las Lajas Sanctuary + Tulcán Cemetery Tour
Join us for a tour of the Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de Las Lajas and the Tulcán Cemetery. We will meet at 10 am in the Plaza de Nariño in Pasto and depart for Ipiales. The journey will take approximately two hours, during which we will discuss the history, culture, and geography of the Pasto region.
Upon arrival at the Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de Las Lajas, a notable neo-Gothic structure situated above the Guáitara River, visitors may have the option to attend the mass celebrated in the church. Afterward, we will visit the museum to explore the sanctuary's history.
Next, we will take a cable car ride across the Guáitara canyon for stunning views before crossing the border into Ecuador to visit the Tulcán Cemetery, recognized for its elaborate bush sculptures in the gardens.
Lastly, we will stop at a nearby shopping centre, providing some free time before returning to Pasto. The estimated drop-off time at the departure point is around 8 pm.
