Immerse yourself in Thailand's rich cultural, historical and architectural heritage on this day trip to the ancient capital city: Ayutthaya.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet at National Stadium BTS Station. We'll then travel to the Bang Pa-In Royal Palace, arriving at 10 am. This former Thai King's summer residence features remarkable architecture set by the riverside.

Next, we will proceed to the ruins of Ayutthaya, founded in 1350 as the second capital of the Siamese Kingdom. The city was destroyed by the Burmese army in 1767, leading to abandonment and preservation of ancient structures that offer insights into the past, such as Buddha heads surrounded by tree roots.

After our exploration, we'll have lunch at a local restaurant. The tour includes visits to significant religious sites like Wat Mahathat, home to a Buddha head entwined in roots, and Wat Mongkol Borpit, known for its large seated Buddha statue. We'll also visit Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, a key complex in the ancient capital.

Finally, we'll explore Wat Chaiwatthanaram, recognized for its stone chedis and designated as a UNESCO site in 1991.

After a fulfilling day, we'll return to Bangkok.
