Private Tour Details
We will pick you up at your hotel in Samarkand at the scheduled time before heading for Shahrisabz, one of the most historic cities in Uzbekistan. The journey will take approximately one hour and a half, passing through the beautiful Zerafshan valley and its cotton plantations.
Upon arrival in Shahrisabz, we will explore this city, birthplace of national leader Amir Timur. We will learn about his history in the grand square named after him before heading to the old town, a declared World Heritage Site.
We will stroll through the central neighborhoods reflecting the city's golden era under the Timurid dynasty, with highlights including the Kok Gumbaz Mosque, built in 1437 and the main tourist attraction of Shahrisabz. We will also admire the adjacent mausoleum during our exploration.
Close to the mosque is the Hazrat-i Imam complex, housing the tomb of Timur's firstborn son. We will then visit the White Palace, a summer residence designed as the largest building under Timur but now in ruins.
After enjoying the views, we will depart Shahrisabz and return to your hotel in Samarkand, with arrival scheduled for six and a half hours after the tour begins.
