Private Tour Details
We will pick you up at your hotel in Samarkand and head to Shahrisabz, a historic city in Uzbekistan. The journey lasts one hour and half, crossing the beautiful Zerafshan valley and its cotton plantations.
Upon arrival, we will explore the city known for the birth of Amir Timur. We will discuss the history of this leader in the grand square named after him, then proceed to the old town, recognized as a World Heritage Site.
We will walk through central neighborhoods where the Timurid dynasty thrived, highlighted by the Kok Gumbaz Mosque, built in 1437, which is the main tourist attraction. We will also visit the adjacent mausoleum before continuing the tour.
Near the mosque, we will explore the Hazrat-i Imam complex, housing the tomb of Timur's firstborn son. Next, we will see the White Palace, a majestic summer residence designed as the largest building under Timur, now in ruins.
After enjoying the views, we will return to the hotels in Samarkand, with arrival scheduled six and a half hours after the start of the private tour.
