The Castle of Peñaranda de Duero is one of the main fortresses in the south of the province of Burgos.

With your ticket, you'll access the Torre del Homenaje, or Tower of Homage. Inside this watchtower, you can visit the Interpretation Center of the Border Castles, featuring panels, models, and interactive screens about the place in the Middle Ages.

You will learn about the history of the castle, which dates back to the 15th century due to remodeling by the Zúñiga family. Don't miss the dungeons in the basement, and visit the top floor, which has a lookout point providing views of Peñaranda de Duero and its surroundings.

In November 2025, the opening hours of the Tower of Homage are as follows:

Friday, Saturday and Sunday: from 10:30 am to 2 pm and 3 pm to 5:30 pm

Final admission is 30 minutes before closing.

Special Opening Hours in 2025

On Thursday, November 27, Friday, November 28 and Saturday, November 29, the Tower of Homage will be open from 3 pm to 6 pm. It will be closed on Sunday, November 30.
