Castellón la Plana Day Trip

The tour departs at 8:30 am from the Peñíscola Tourist Office, taking a minibus to Castellón de la Plana, with a travel time of just over an hour.

The first stop will be El Grao de Castellón, where participants will explore the city’s maritime traditions and enjoy views of the lighthouse, fishing port, and marina featuring modernist architecture along the coastal district.

Next, the tour moves to the historic centre of Castellón de la Plana and includes a visit to the Museum of Fine Arts, showcasing Valencian ceramics, oil paintings from Zurbarán's workshop, and various sculptures.

After the museum, the tour will proceed to the Monday market, home to over 300 open-air stalls.

The trip will also highlight the city's monumental heritage, including a visit to the Cathedral of Santa María la Mayor, known for its rich history affected by a fire and the Spanish Civil War. Adjacent to the church is the El Fadrí bell tower, standing nearly 60 metres tall.

The day trip concludes at 2 pm back in Peñíscola.
