Come and see the pride and joy of Castellón on our San José Caves Day Trip from Peniscola. You'll admire the geological beauty of this stunning spot, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, on foot and by boat.

San José Caves Day Trip

At the designated time, we'll meet in front of the Peniscola Tourist Office and commence our San José Caves Day Trip. We'll drive 65 miles (105 kilometres) to these caves, located in Vall de Uxó, within the Sierra Espadán Natural Park.

The San José caves were inhabited over 15,000 years ago. You will learn various facts during our boat trip through the caves' interior and sail along the longest underground river in Europe. The total depth of the caves remains unknown, as speleologists have not determined it.

From the boat, you will see stalactites and stalagmites along the walls of the Vall de Uxó caves. We will also walk through an 820-foot (250 metre) long gallery. Notably, the cave maintains a constant temperature of 20ºC throughout the year.

After 40 minutes of exploring and learning about the geological features, we will return to ground level. We will then head back to Peniscola, arriving after a total of 5 or 6 hours.
